What is a rewinder, how does it work, and what is it used for?

A rewinder is a machine designed to rewind roll materials from one roll to another. The rewinding process can improve roll quality, trim uneven or telescoped edges, inspect the material, remove defective sections, change the roll diameter or prepare the material for subsequent production processes.
